Mount Baker Vapor reports cinnamon flavoured eJuice is safe contrary to recent study

Posted by Stuart Rosenfarb on

We are currently in the process of evaluating Mount Baker Vapor eJuices that will be featured on our site this coming March and when selecting eJuices to review, we noticed that Mount Baker had brought back their cinnamon flavoured eJuices and were once again selling them through their site. I sent them an email asking why they had started selling cinnamon flavoured eJuices again after they had removed them in response to a recent study that reported cinnamon flavoured eJuices to be unsafe for use. As a direct result of these new findings, PremiumEjuiceSamples.com will once again be featuring cinnamon flavoured eJuices. It's a good thing too because we have some excellent eJuices that contain natural cinnamon extract that we had to remove in the interest of the health and safety of our customers. Please see the response I received from Mount Baker below.

Mount Baker Email Response:

We had pulled our cinnamon flavors due to an overwhelming concern that was expressed to us by our customer base. To ensure the quality of our product and the safety of our customers, we chose to pull our cinnamon flavors until more investigation could be done to determine the validity of the study. Upon further investigation, we have determined that while our flavors do contain natural cinnamon extract, none of our flavors are nearly as concentrated as the substance used in the study. In addition, the flavor bases are then further diluted with a selected blend of PG (Propylene Glycol) and VG (Vegetable Glycerin). The study also did not attempt the test with various dilutions of E Liquid, but only the concentrated Cinnamaldehyde. Furthermore, the Cinnamaldehyde was not in vapor form, but in liquid form. After much investigation, we here at Mt. Baker Vapor have decided to place all of our Cinnamon Flavors back on the site. We will be providing links to the studies and critiques in question on our blog. This way, you as our customers can make the most informed decision possible on the flavors you choose.

Enclosed is a link to the most recent study on the manner as well as critique of the same study. For any other comments, questions or concerns please contact support@mtbakervapor.com.

Mt Baker Vapor who are a popular eJuice vendor in the US put the following statement out today:

"Here at Mt Baker Vapor we have been following the recent studies about Cinnamon flavors very closely. At this time we do not have enough information to make a statement on the issue either way. At this time we have decided to remove any flavors that contain Cinnamon while we continue our research. Our biggest concern is our customers and their health. We will keep you all posted on this situation. Please feel free to contact at support@mtbakervapor.com if you have any comments, questions or concerns."
